Cerakote Training

We at Midwest Firearm Solutions strive to put out the absolute best Cerakote around. We are factory trained in the basic and advanced class through Cerakote in Oregon. We would like to offer a non certified class to anyone wanting to learn the proper ways to apply Cerakote.

This class is not just for beginners. If you are just starting out using Cerakote or if you have been spraying for a while and you want to learn different techniques this class is for you. We will cover the following…

  • Proper parts preparation (degreasing, sandblasting and gassing out)

  • How to properly hang your parts (metal hooks, tape, alligator clips etc.)

  • How to adjust the spray gun (fan pattern, flow, air pressure)

  • Spraying Techniques

  • Flash and Full Curing (temps and times)

  • Using Vinyl Stencils, Free hand and using multiple items to give different effects when spraying

  • How to do “Battleworn” parts and different ways to get the effect.

  • Camo Patterns.

  • Proper way to spray over stencils to leave a seamless color transition.

You are encouraged to bring at least two items for the two day class to Cerakote be it a handgun (slide/frame), AR (upper/lower/handguard), Tumbler, knife etc…

You can either bring the project in person and drop off a day before or send the items in via mail. Sending the items in before hand will give plenty of time to have the parts prepped and degreased before the class. If you have any ideas on what you would like to do for your projects (colors/patterns) let me know to verify I have the colors on hand and vinyl stencils cut and ready to use. *Please make sure items are completely disassembled prior to dropping or sending them in.

The class will be $1500.00 for a two day course, a non refundable deposit of $300 is due at the time of signing up. The remaining balance is due on the final day of class.

For an additional $300.00 you will be given a Cerakote Starter kit which includes Iwata LPH80 Spray gun, Six Tester sized bottles (colors of your choice), 50ml Glass beaker, Acetone bottle, Strainer (your choice of mesh). This is a $450.00 value.
